Mum Appreciation šŸ„° + We need your Input! šŸ™

Jeremy and his mum

I handed her the piece of paper.

She took it from me and started reading it.

When she had finished reading, she looked up at me with her brilliant smile, which never failed to light up the room.

"I'll have my usual, cornflakes with muesli please."

I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was.

"Mum, it's Mother's Day! Are you sure you don't want pancakes or bacon and eggs?"

"I'm sure," she said, as she handed the homemade breakfast menu back to me. "Thanks for including it on the menu, but do I have to stay in bed to eat? I want to eat breakfast with all of you..."

"How about we bring our breakfasts in too and sit on the bed with you?" I suggested.

"Sounds wonderful!" She said with a smile.

I hurried away to give my mum's breakfast order to my brother and dad who were waiting in the kitchen.

I was 11 years old and we'd had this tradition for a few years by now.

After breakfast, we would give her gifts. I could tell that the gifts didn't mean as much to her as the handmade cards that my brother and I would make.

I learned early on that words of appreciation meant a lot to my mum and I always had to make sure there was a tissue box nearby whenever she started reading our cards.

I'll never forget her joy and appreciation when we celebrated her and got to show her just how much we appreciated her.

***************

It's now been about 9 years since my mum passed away and I just wish I had more to remember her by.

More photos of her beautiful smile, more written memories to reflect on and more videos of the time we spent together doing the simple everyday stuff.

Being a mum is a tough job, and often mums don't receive the appreciation they truly deserve.

We'd like to help change both of those things; more appreciation of mum and more records of it!

We're hard at work on a new product that will be perfect for Mother's Day in just a couple of months (but not limited to Mother's Day).

And we would love your input to help us make this product the best it can be!

You can help by simply hitting reply and telling me one of your favourite Mother's Day memories.

It could be from when you were a kid, or from more recently, as a parent.

It could be a memory of breakfast in bed, a handmade card, a fun adventure or any love-filled moment.

We'll spill the beans on what exactly the product is another time, but whether you're a mum or a dad, we're excited to be making this for you and are so looking forward to Mother's Day this year!

Thank you everyone for tuning in and for all your support!

Cheering you on!
