The best parenting advice we ever received... 🙏😅🤪 (That actually works 😉)
When you become a parent, or even while you're still expecting your first, it's no secret that the parenting advice starts rolling in. 🤪
And while much of this is helpful (even if it's unsolicited 😉), some of it you put straight in the bin, right? 🙈
"Thank you Aunty May, but people don't dip dummies in whiskey anymore." 😆🤦♂️
BUT!!
Sometimes you come across that little piece of parenting advice that is just worth its weight in GOLD 🥇🏆👏
For us, it was this (which I recently saw again via @thechristmasfam):
"Someone once told us that babies have reset buttons.
They said that if they're having a rough day or a hard time, take them outside or put them in water - and we've yet to come across an instance where that hasn't worked for us."
😍🙏
We can vouch for this! With our almost 2 and almost 3 year olds, it truly has made the biggest difference - taking them outside or putting them in water. 👏☀🚿
I kid you not, our eldest would be happy in a bathtub for over an hour! 🤯
And because it works sooo well for us, I'd say our kids spend on average of 3-5 hours outside every day. 😆
If you're looking for some awesome inspiration on how to get your kids outside more, and why it is one of the best things we can ever do for our families, check out our friend Hannah @ouryearoutdoors. 👏🍃
She was a self-confessed indoorsy, book-loving homebody (nothing wrong with that!), but has been on an epic journey since having kids of discovering just how much the outdoors has improved her family life, as well as learning to absolutely love it herself. 😍👏
So be encouraged! If you'd rather curl up on the couch with a cup of tea than go trailing through mud puddles, but you've been feeling like the kids need to be outdoors more... Hannah is a great fit for you. 😉
As always in all things parenting, we're cheering you on! 🙌

Dad (standing on one leg at ATM):

He had little patience.

Date Night Ideas for this Week
Keep the spark alive with some of our date night ideas this week 😍🔥 (Even without a babysitter!)
Staying In Date Night Idea:
- New Hobby 🧵💃 (Pick a skill that neither of you knows how to do and give it a go! Brewing, knitting, salsa dancing, wood carving... look up some online tutorials and have fun learning together.)
- Ice Bar 🧊 (By far the coolest date you'll ever have! Drink out of ice and admire ice sculptures. No ice bar nearby? Order the largest vessel of ice cream you can from your local ice creamery to share (or not). Skin-on-skin is the best way to warm up afterwards. ;)
Cheering you on!
